The main goal is to improve the shape and contour of the area where fat is injected. The Procedure

The fat grafting procedure contains multiple steps, including:

A local anesthetic will be injected into the site for fat removal, and a small incision created. Then, a cannula attached to a syringe will be placed to carefully extract fat cells.

Fat Purification and Transfer:

Next, the collected fat will be processed to prepare if for transfer into syringes. This may include placing the fat cells into a device called a centrifuge, which will spin the fat to remove impurities.

Fat Placement:

A cannula or needle will then be placed into the site that will be receiving the fat cells. This may be repeated until the desired results are achieved.

This entire process usually takes 1-2 hours to complete and is done on an outpatient basis.

Recovery

Following fat grafting, you may experience bruising and swelling at the donor and injection sites. Most people can return to normal activities after a few days, though we recommend waiting 1-3 weeks before returning to exercise. Results are long-lasting, natural, and safe.

With fat grafting, there will be some degree of fat reabsorption, so several treatment sessions may be required for your desired results.
