What is Dysport?
Pesky forehead lines and wrinkles often begin to show up in our 30s and only become more prominent as we age. If you are bothered by these lines and would like to appear more youthful, Dysport can help. Like Botox, Dysport is also an injectable treatment created to reduce the appearance of forehead lines and wrinkles. However, their formulations differ a bit, in that Dysport? spreads more quickly. This is ideal for treating large surfaces such as the forehead.
Dysport can be used to treat:
- Frown lines (glabellar lines).
- Lines on the forehead.
- Crow’s feet.
Candidates for Dysport?
Ideal Dysport candidates will be 18 years or older, be in good general health, and wish to soften the appearance of dynamic wrinkles such as frown lines between the brows. However, you should not receive this treatment if you have had a history of a neuromuscular disease, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or have had an allergic reaction to any other botulinum toxin products. The Treatment
A topical anesthetic will be offered before injection to make sure that you are totally comfortable during treatment. Then, your provider will mark the areas to be treated, and the Dysport will be carefully injected into these areas. The injections feel like a small pinch and are often well tolerated. Treatment can take anywhere from 15-60 minutes, depending on the number of treatment areas and the amount of change desired.

There is no downtime needed after your Dysport injections, so you can return to regular activities including work and school whenever you feel comfortable. We advise that you avoid consuming alcohol, parking in exercise, and exposing the treated areas to sunlight for 12-24 hours after treatment for the best possible results. A reduction in wrinkles and lines can often be seen after only 2-3 days and results can last 3-5 months.
