Daxxify
What is Daxxify?
When you make a facial expression, your facial muscles contract. This can occur throughout the day, every day, until wrinkles begin to form due to these repeated muscle retractions. These wrinkles are called dynamic lines and often appear on the forehead, between the brows, and at the corners of the eyes.
Daxxify is an injectable neuromodulator used to temporarily improve the look of moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows. When you make facial expressions, the muscles between your eyebrows contract, causing wrinkles in the skin. Over time, as your skin ages and loses elasticity, these lines can become permanent. Daxxify relaxes the muscles to smooth frown lines and wrinkles, creating a more refreshed, youthful look.
Daxxify is most often used to treat the following:
- Frown lines (vertical lines between the eyebrows).
- Glabellar lines (lines between the eyebrows that cause a furrowed brow)
- Worry lines
- Number 11 lines (vertical lines between the eyes)
Candidates for Daxxify?
Daxxify is approved for adults 18-65 years old who want to temporarily reduce moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows. The Treatment
Prior to treatment, you will be offered the option of a topical anesthetic to help ensure you are comfortable during treatment, though many patients find this unnecessary as the needles used to inject Daxxify are very thin. Dr. Villares will then specifically inject the Daxxify into the designated areas, which will feel like a small pinch. Treatment can take anywhere from 15 minutes to one hour, depending on the number of injections needed.

Following Daxxify you may experience slight swelling, bruising, or tenderness. We advise that you avoid strenuous activity and alcohol consumption for 12-14 hours after treatment for the best results. Also, avoid rubbing or massaging the treatment area as this may cause the Daxxify to migrate to other areas of the face. Results will be noticeable after about 2-3 days and can last for 3-4 months.
